Museums are no longer just repositories of artifacts and authority, but a place that uses objects as a tool for learners to explore the world around them and their own relationship to it. Creating a space for real discovery, connections, and conversations for learners of all ages around certain objects requires museum educators to think creatively, create active learning environments using collections items as symbols, and design a space for observation and drawing conclusions, all while promoting a desire to learn more and have fun.
